HR Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a proactive HR Assistant to support our human resources team in Nairobi. The role involves assisting with recruitment, onboarding, payroll support and maintaining employee records. You will work closely with HR managers to ensure smooth HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the recruitment process (posting job ads, shortlisting candidates, scheduling interviews).
• Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
• Support onboarding and orientation of new employees.
• Prepare HR documents such as employment contracts, letters, and reports.
• Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant employee data (attendance, leave, overtime).
• Handle employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
• Monitor employee attendance, leave, and disciplinary records.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Support performance management and appraisal processes.
• Assist in organizing staff training and development programs.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least 1‑2 years of experience in an HR or administrative role.
• Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
• High level of confidentiality and integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational and record‑keeping abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
