Human Resources Manager (Field Office)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a solutions‑driven Human Resources Manager to lead all HR services for its Kakuma field office. You will act as the central point for talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations and HR administration, ensuring that staff are supported throughout their employment lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment for functional, administrative and support staff, including standard and just‑in‑time hiring.
• Oversee onboarding, performance management, disciplinary actions and exit processes for field‑based personnel.
• Supervise the field‑based HR Officer, monitor leave and absenteeism, and maintain accurate personnel records.
• Provide guidance to line managers on compensation, benefits, professional development and talent retention.
• Facilitate staff trainings, conduct monthly staff meetings and manage employee grievance resolution.
• Maintain HRIS data on Cornerstone and Workday, process incentive payroll on Paymaster and support the Integra system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR management within an international or humanitarian context.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
• Ability to supervise staff, manage multiple HR processes and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, with a commitment to the IRC mission.
