Human Resources Manager

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will be based in Nairobi County and will lead end‑to‑end HR operations for Safari Group’s multi‑country retail business. This full‑time, on‑site position oversees recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations and compliance across a workforce of over 500 employees.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and compliance with Kenyan labour law.
• Manage the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing to onboarding, ensuring talent acquisition aligns with business needs.
• Oversee performance management processes, including appraisals, feedback and development plans.
• Handle employee relations, disciplinary actions, grievance procedures and provide guidance to managers.
• Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data, ensuring data integrity and reporting.
• Lead workforce planning, succession and talent development initiatives.
• Promote an inclusive, high‑performance culture that reflects Safari Group’s values.

Required profile

• Strong core HR competencies in recruitment, performance management, employee relations and policy development.
• Solid knowledge of Kenyan labour legislation and HR compliance.
• Excellent communication, conflict‑resolution and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Strategic mindset with experience in workforce planning and change support.
• Leadership ability to coach teams and foster an inclusive environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; CHRP or equivalent certification is a plus.
