Information Technology & Management Internship

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking an Information Technology and Management Intern to support its Source to Sea Pollution Unit in Nairobi. This 6‑month internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global environmental initiatives while gaining practical IT experience in an international organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the unit in managing data related to land‑based pollution, plastic waste, and marine litter.
• Support the coordination of projects such as the "Protecting the Marine Environment from Land‑Based Pollution" and the "ONE UNEP Plastic" initiatives.
• Help prepare reports and presentations for UNEP’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 6 and 14) and related UN resolutions.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for team meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
