Internal Audit & Risk Manager

About the role

The Internal Audit & Risk Manager will provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of governance, risk, and control processes across the organization. Reporting to senior management, you will lead audit engagements, develop risk frameworks, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual risk‑based internal audit plan covering operational, financial, and compliance areas.
• Conduct audits, evaluate internal controls, and prepare detailed reports with findings and corrective actions.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on outstanding issues.
• Design, maintain, and update the organization’s risk management framework and corporate risk register.
• Identify, assess, and monitor strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks, advising management on mitigation strategies.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and industry standards.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and other stakeholders as required.
• Support corporate governance initiatives by reviewing policies, procedures, and controls.
• Prepare and present audit, risk, and compliance reports to senior leadership, providing actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA(K), ACCA, CIA, CISA, or CRMA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in internal audit, risk management, compliance or a related function.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit standards and risk management frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
