Junior Accountant

About the role

We are a fast‑growing multi‑brand hospitality group in Nairobi, operating several restaurant concepts. We are looking for a meticulous Junior Accountant who will own daily financial data across multiple branches and ensure the books are always accurate and up‑to‑date.

Key responsibilities

• Post daily sales, expenses and supplier invoices in QuickBooks, correctly allocating each entry by branch and account.
• Reconcile cash, M‑PESA, card/POS and online delivery platform receipts with bank deposits.
• Verify collections, payouts, commissions and platform charges, flagging any shortages or variances immediately.
• Manage petty‑cash accounts for all locations, maintaining supporting documents and approvals.
• Process supplier payments, match invoices to delivery notes and perform monthly supplier reconciliations.
• Assist with daily and monthly bank and mobile‑money reconciliations.
• Prepare daily revenue reports, expense summaries, variance analyses and monthly finance reports.
• Maintain an organised filing system for invoices, receipts, vouchers and reconciliation records.

Required profile

• A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least two years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in a multi‑site environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards resolving discrepancies.
• Trustworthy handling of confidential financial information.
