Junior Financial Controller

About the role

The Junior Financial Controller will support the Store Financial Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting and stock‑take processes for a hypermarket in Kenya. This role combines financial analysis, payroll validation, and stock control to ensure the store operates within budget and complies with internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store Financial Controller in preparing monthly financial reports, including profit & loss, cash flow and balance sheet.
• Support internal audits and ensure compliance with financial controls and procedures.
• Review and validate payroll for accuracy and timely processing.
• Oversee stock controls, including stock counts, shrinkage analysis and receiving processes.
• Help monitor the store budget, highlight potential issues and support implementation of audit recommendations.
• Contribute to financial planning activities such as forecasting and annual budgeting.
• Analyze store and departmental performance to aid decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or Commerce.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar finance role.
• Highly organized with strong multitasking and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
