Kitchen Cook – Full‑time Position

About the role

The Kitchen Cook will join the culinary team at a hospitality venue in Westlands, Mombasa. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will prepare and present a variety of menu items while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and plate breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, beach and special‑event dishes according to approved recipes.
• Handle ingredient preparation – washing, peeling, chopping, marinating and portioning – and ensure food is served at the correct temperature.
• Assist in developing seasonal menus and daily specials under the Head Chef’s guidance.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment and storage areas; follow HACCP and company hygiene procedures.
• Support inventory tasks: receive deliveries, monitor stock levels, conduct regular counts and minimise waste.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, report faults promptly and adhere to health‑and‑safety protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar kitchen role.
• Mid‑level qualification with proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, good personal hygiene and ability to work collaboratively with chefs, wait staff and housekeeping.

Required skills

• HACCP and food‑safety procedures.
• Kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
• FIFO stock rotation and inventory control.
