L2 Support Engineer (Database) – MongoDB & Elasticsearch

About the role

The L2 Support Engineer will provide production support for MongoDB and Elasticsearch platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability while assisting application teams and resolving incidents within defined SLAs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and administer MongoDB clusters, replica sets, and sharded environments, including backup, restore, and disaster recovery.
• Monitor and administer Elasticsearch clusters, handling indexing, search performance, shard allocation, and security.
• Perform incident and problem management, root cause analysis, and on‑call support.
• Develop scripts for automation, maintain dashboards, and create SOPs and runbooks.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in production support for database and search technologies.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• MongoDB administration (replication, sharding, backup & recovery).
• Elasticsearch administration (clustering, index management, query optimization).
• Linux/Unix administration.
• Shell scripting, Python or automation tools.
• Monitoring tools such as Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog.
• REST APIs, JSON data structures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) – preferred.
