Laundry Worker

About the role

Amentum is looking for a reliable Laundry Worker to join its support team on Diego Garcia. You will be responsible for ensuring that linens, uniforms and personal garments are cleaned, sanitized and delivered on time to meet operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, tag and prepare laundry items for washing, including linens, uniforms and personal garments.
• Operate commercial washers, dryers, ironing and folding machines according to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Load and unload equipment, handling items carefully to avoid damage.
• Monitor laundry cycles, inspect laundered items for stains or damage, and report findings.
• Use cleaning agents and chemicals in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Fold, organize and package cleaned items for delivery or storage.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized workstation and equipment after each use.
• Report equipment malfunctions and assist with inventory of laundry supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, bend and carry loads up to 50 lb.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to read, speak and comprehend English for contract requirements and emergency procedures.
• Willingness to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.
