Lecturer (Biomedical Engineering)

About the role

The Technical University of Mombasa is seeking a qualified Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering to join its academic staff. This full‑time position involves teaching, research, and community engagement at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Biomedical Engineering.
• Supervise undergraduate projects, experiential learning programmes, and postgraduate dissertations or theses.
• Contribute to the design and development of new undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.
• Initiate, promote, and participate in research projects and publish findings.
• Represent the university at academic conferences, seminars, and workshops.
• Provide professional and community services, develop industry linkages, and assist in fund mobilisation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department.

Required profile

• Earned PhD (or equivalent Doctoral degree) in Biomedical Engineering from an accredited university, **or** a Master’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience in academia, research, or industry.
• Registration with the appropriate professional or regulatory body.
• Evidence of computer literacy.
