Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator – Africa

About the role

The Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator will manage and coordinate logistics activities across Africa, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of humanitarian aid to National Societies and other movement partners. The role supports strategic partnerships, enhances emergency response capabilities, and promotes locally‑led initiatives aligned with the British Red Cross’s priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics operations with National Societies, British Red Cross teams and movement partners, designing effective supply‑chain solutions.
• Develop and implement supply‑chain strategies that support emergency response and preparedness through locally‑led solutions.
• Provide technical support and capacity‑building to partners, enhancing their logistics and supply‑chain management capabilities.
• Manage regional logistics staff on a dotted‑line basis, including recruitment, monitoring and development planning.
• Ensure compliance with local legislation, donor requirements and British Red Cross policies.
• Support regional Cash and Voucher Assistance programmes by identifying constraints, conducting market assessments and assisting with budgeting and contracts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian logistics and supply‑chain management.
• Strong understanding of procurement, transportation, warehousing and distribution in emergency contexts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with NGOs, governments and other stakeholders.

Required skills

• Familiarity with logistics technology such as Transportation Management systems.
