Manager, Reconciliations

About the role

Standard Bank Group is seeking a Manager, Reconciliations to lead its reconciliations team. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple reconciliation portfolios, ensuring that all financial entries are accurately matched and that any breaks are resolved promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the reconciliations team, allocating resources effectively.
• Oversee reconciliation portfolios, managing complex breaks, queries and escalations.
• Ensure timely resolution of mismatches and maintain high data quality.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to communicate issues and drive solutions.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement process improvements.

Required profile

• First degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA.
• 5‑7 years of relevant experience, including people‑leadership.
• Intermediate knowledge of payment systems, settlements and senior‑level stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with reconciliation processes within IPSS.
