Material Engineer

About the role

Tatu City is looking for a seasoned Material Engineer to join the project team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will oversee material specifications, procurement, and compliance, ensuring that premium materials meet design intent and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyse and approve material specifications, technical datasheets and test reports against project design and architectural standards.
• Identify and pre‑qualify high‑end suppliers across the Middle East, China, India, North Africa and East Africa; act as the primary technical contact during procurement, submittal and factory‑inspection phases.
• Prepare and present material catalogues, mood boards and physical sample boards for consultant and senior‑management review.
• Lead material testing protocols, verify that delivered items match approved samples, and assess long‑term durability of luxury finishes.
• Track production lead times and shipping logistics to align deliveries with the master construction schedule.
• Drive value‑engineering initiatives by recommending sustainable, cost‑effective alternatives without compromising design intent.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (MBA is a strong advantage).
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Material Engineer on large‑scale, high‑end real‑estate projects.
• Established networks and direct procurement experience in the targeted global material markets.
• Deep knowledge of material specifications, industry standards (British Standards, Eurocodes) and manufacturing processes.
• General awareness of Building Information Modeling (BIM) concepts.
