Mechanic – Fleet Maintenance

About the role

The company is seeking a qualified mechanic to maintain and repair its fleet of vehicles and equipment within the Supply Chain and Logistics department. The role ensures that all fleet assets operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the organization’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on trucks, generators and other fleet assets.
• Perform repairs and replace faulty parts, including engine, brake, suspension, transmission and electrical components.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies, testing vehicles after repair to confirm functionality.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair reports and spare‑parts usage logs.
• Ensure workshop tools and equipment are serviced and stored correctly.
• Follow HSE policies, use personal protective equipment and manage hazardous waste disposal.
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents and major recurring defects to management.

Required profile

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience as a mechanic, preferably with trucks, generators or fleet vehicles.
• Valid driving licence with at least five years of driving experience.
• Basic understanding of HSE requirements.
