Mechanical Technician – Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our manufacturing team in Nairobi. You will be responsible for ensuring that all production equipment runs safely and efficiently through routine preventive maintenance and rapid corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in production machinery.
• Support installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of recurring failures.
• Monitor machine performance, maintain lubrication, alignment and calibration.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records and performance reports.
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
