Micro Credit Officer

About the role

The Micro Credit Officer will promote Joinas Sacco’s products and services, recruit new members, and manage loan portfolios to support the organization’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Market Sacco products, onboard new members and groups in line with policies.
• Recruit, register, and train members on products, services, and basic business management.
• Conduct business appraisals and recommend loan approvals.
• Monitor loan portfolio performance, ensure timely repayments, and support debt recovery.
• Maintain quality loan and deposit portfolios to meet Sacco targets.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports.
• Maintain accurate member records, including savings and loan information.
• Provide excellent customer service to promote member retention.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Cooperative Management or related field.
• Minimum two years’ experience in micro‑finance, SACCO operations, credit management or a similar financial institution.
• Strong sales, marketing and relationship‑management abilities.
• Good analytical and report‑writing capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and achieve set targets.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
