Mining Engineer (Entry Level)

About the role

The National Mining Corporation (NAMICO) is seeking an entry‑level Mining Engineer to support the implementation of its division mandates. This permanent position is based in Nairobi and offers the opportunity to work on a range of mining operations within a state‑owned corporation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare applications and periodic performance reports for mineral rights.
• Develop and implement mine plans and scheduling.
• Produce reports and instructions for geotechnical operations.
• Design and manage waste‑rock management plans.
• Oversee run‑of‑mine stockpiles.
• Ensure compliance with mine safety, environmental and health regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mining, mineral processing, extractive metallurgy or civil engineering.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and report‑writing skills.
• Interpersonal and negotiation capabilities.
• Leadership qualities including mentoring and coaching.

What we offer

• Basic salary ranging from 67,438 to 108,886 KES per month.
• Housing allowance of 10,000 KES and commuter leave allowance of 4,000 KES.
• Permanent, pensionable contract.
