Mobile Service Technician

About the role

The Mobile Service Technician provides on‑site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance for John Deere equipment and technology. Working directly with customers, you will ensure equipment reliability while supporting the service team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere machinery in the field.
• Maintain accurate inventory of parts stocked on the service vehicle.
• Mentor Service Technicians and Apprentice Technicians.
• Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities.
• Account for billable time, complete work orders, and submit thorough documentation.
• Participate in Service EDUCATE training programs as required.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment needed for the job.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety regulations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience performing service repairs on off‑road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with basic computer functions and diagnostic software such as Service ADVISOR™.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Adequate personal toolset, valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
