Monitoring & Evaluation Intern

About the role

The Monitoring & Evaluation Intern will support the Kenya Country Programme of UN‑Habitat in tracking the implementation of urban development projects across Kenya. Working under the Head of Kenya Country Programme and closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, the intern will assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support monitoring of overall programme implementation status.
• Assist in tracking programme and project indicators against workplans and results frameworks.
• Review and validate data for inconsistencies and errors.
• Help manage the internal M&E system and ensure quality of monitoring templates.
• Support third‑party monitoring activities conducted by donors and partners.
• Contribute to evaluations, needs assessments and annual surveys.
• Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the Kenya Country Programme.
• Assist in organizing workshops, stakeholder consultations and training sessions related to M&E.
• Document and share change stories, case studies, lessons and best practices.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Under supervision of the Head of Kenya Country Programme and the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
• Enthusiastic about urban development and sustainable cities.
