Network Engineer – ISP Infrastructure (Nairobi)

About the role

The company is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, deploy and maintain its ISP infrastructure in Nairobi. You will work on fiber, wireless and radio link networks, ensuring high availability and performance for enterprise and retail customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and scale ISP network infrastructure including fiber, wireless and radio links.
• Configure and maintain routing and switching environments using Cisco and MikroTik equipment.
• Plan and execute network expansions, upgrades and patch management.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot outages, latency and bottlenecks to ensure maximum uptime.
• Implement security measures such as firewalls, VPNs and intrusion detection systems, and conduct vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborate with the Network Operations Center to provide tier‑2/3 technical support and incident resolution.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes and troubleshooting guides.
• Support enterprise and retail customers and coordinate with technical support, field engineers and sales teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in an ISP environment.
• Proven experience with fiber optic, wireless and radio link technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco and MikroTik networking equipment.
• Experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, HCIP, MTCNA or MTCRE are preferred.
