Network Technician Level 3 (CCNP/CCIE) – Nairobi

About the role

The Network Technician Level 3 will lead complex network operations in Nairobi, supporting high‑capacity equipment and mentoring junior staff. You will act as the technical point of contact for senior stakeholders and ensure network reliability across installations, repairs, and upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, operate, repair and maintain high‑complexity networking equipment.
• Lead and train Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, overseeing a team of field engineers.
• Perform installations, moves, repairs, uninstalls, site surveys, rack‑and‑stack, and vendor escort activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
• Install, terminate, label and test telecom cabling and circuit demarcation extensions.
• Interface with C‑level executives and senior stakeholders to report status and resolve issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 9 years of hands‑on network support experience.
• Technical degree or relevant certifications (CCNP, CCIE preferred; CCNA or CompTIA Network+ a plus).
• Ability to lift equipment weighing over 45 lb.
• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS and DHCP.
• Extensive experience with Cisco (or equivalent) networking hardware.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
• Basic understanding of Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
• Proficiency with console cables, terminal emulators (PuTTY, TeraTerm) and Windows 11 laptops.
