Operational Accounting Assistant

About the role

The Operational Accounting Assistant supports the finance team by handling day‑to‑day accounting transactions, ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to efficient month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process financial transactions including invoices, payments, deposits, and journal entries.
• Manage accounts payable: vendor setup, invoice review, coding, and payment processing.
• Manage accounts receivable: invoicing, payment application, deposits, and customer inquiries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, general‑ledger accounts, and balance‑sheet items.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate reporting.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in transactions and account balances.
• Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries.
• Support audits by preparing schedules, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial operations and provide backup coverage as needed.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
