Operations Manager – Retail Operations

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day activities across our network of retail outlets in Nairobi. The role combines operational oversight, process improvement and cross‑functional coordination to ensure high service standards and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of all retail stores, maintaining consistent service and operational standards.
• Drive process improvements, cost efficiencies and implement standard operating procedures.
• Manage inventory forecasting, replenishment, stock optimisation and shrinkage control.
• Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to secure cost‑effective stock availability.
• Oversee HR functions including recruitment, training, performance management and team development.
• Ensure the reliability of IT systems such as POS and inventory management platforms.
• Work with Marketing to prepare promotions, activations and campaigns for operational readiness.
• Set, monitor and coach on outlet and team KPIs, addressing performance gaps.
• Analyse sales and outlet data to identify operational improvement opportunities.
• Prepare operational reports, dashboards and action plans for senior management.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management or related field.
• 5–8 years progressive experience in retail operations, preferably multi‑outlet FMCG or fast‑moving sectors.
• Proven track record in inventory and supply‑chain management and process improvement.
• Experience overseeing HR, IT systems and marketing execution within a retail environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage employee performance and develop teams.
