Operations Officer

About the role

The Operations Officer will support the smooth execution of construction financing operations, acting as the operational backbone between credit, risk, project monitoring and client service teams. Based in Nairobi, you will ensure timely loan processing, accurate documentation and effective disbursement control across financed developments.

Key responsibilities

• Process loan applications, verify documentation and coordinate appraisal, approval and compliance checks with credit teams.
• Prepare loan files, enter data accurately into internal systems and track approval workflows.
• Support milestone‑based disbursements, verify completion of construction milestones and maintain disbursement schedules.
• Monitor project progress against approved timelines and budgets, liaise with developers, contractors and quantity surveyors, and prepare periodic progress reports.
• Maintain accurate loan and project documentation, ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and support audits.
• Serve as the operational point of contact for clients and developers, providing updates on loan status and resolving operational queries.
• Use internal loan tracking and project monitoring systems, identify process gaps and support automation and digitisation initiatives.
• Handle office operations, petty cash, licence renewals and statutory tax returns.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Construction Management or a related field.
• 2–5 years’ experience in banking, financial services, loan operations, construction finance, real estate or project management.

Required skills

• Strong documentation and record‑management abilities.
• Proficiency with loan tracking systems and project monitoring tools.
• Understanding of loan processing, disbursement control and compliance procedures.
