Operations & Special Projects Lead

About the role

Janta Kenya, a boutique legal practice focused on environmental law and sustainability, is seeking an Operations & Special Projects Lead. The role will coordinate daily operations and drive internal and client‑facing projects, ensuring smooth delivery and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor special projects and strategic initiatives.
• Prepare project plans, timelines, budgets, trackers and progress reports.
• Follow up with team members, consultants, suppliers and external stakeholders to meet deliverable deadlines.
• Organise conferences, training programmes, publications and stakeholder meetings.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and administrative systems.
• Manage the operational calendar, office requirements, vendors and routine admin tasks.
• Coordinate client onboarding, engagement documentation and service‑delivery timelines.
• Maintain project records, client information and the internal knowledge repository.
• Support staff onboarding, leave administration, performance tracking and training coordination.
• Maintain compliance calendars and assist with KYC, AML, data‑protection requirements.
• Liaise with outsourced accountant, HR consultant and other service providers.
• Identify operational challenges and propose practical solutions to leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Law or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in operations or project management, preferably in a professional‑services environment.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
