Packaging Specialist

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Packaging Specialist to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves preparing, labeling, and protecting equipment and supplies for storage, shipment, or transport while adhering to Navy and program standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform packaging, wrapping, labeling, and preparation of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Inspect items for damage, accuracy, and compliance before packaging.
• Select and apply appropriate packing materials, cushioning, containers, and protective methods.
• Prepare documentation, inventory logs, and basic shipping or storage records.
• Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and movement of packaged materials.
• Operate basic material‑handling equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and carts.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of packaging areas, tools, and supplies.
• Follow safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements and report any issues.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in packaging, warehousing, logistics, material handling, or related industrial environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining beyond hire date and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and obtain facility credentials.

Required skills

• Operation of material‑handling equipment (pallet jacks, dollies, carts).
• Knowledge of packaging standards and protective methods.
• Basic documentation and inventory logging.
