Pastry Chef – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Pastry Chef will lead the Pastry Department of an award‑winning luxury hotel set in the heart of Kenya’s Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy. You will be responsible for creating high‑quality desserts, pastries, breads and bakery items for the hotel’s restaurants, banquets and special events, ensuring every guest experience reflects the property’s world‑class standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily production of all pastry and bakery items for restaurants, banquets and catered events.
• Maintain consistent quality, presentation and timely service across all outlets.
• Control food costs and manage inventory to meet budgetary targets.
• Uphold hygiene, safety and food‑handling standards in line with regulatory requirements.
• Develop, train and motivate a skilled pastry team.
• Innovate menu offerings and introduce new creations to enhance guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a pastry department in a luxury hotel or high‑end restaurant.
• Strong leadership and team‑development abilities.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and cost‑control practices.
• Creative mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional desserts and baked goods.
