Pharmaceutical Technologist

About the role

We are looking for a qualified, customer‑focused Pharmaceutical Technologist to join our pharmacy team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves dispensing medicines, providing health and skincare advice, and supporting smooth pharmacy operations.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescription and over‑the‑counter medications in line with regulatory standards.
• Counsel customers on medication use, side effects and general health matters.
• Verify prescriptions for completeness and authenticity before dispensing.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of prescriptions, inventory and daily sales.
• Monitor stock levels, trigger timely re‑ordering and manage expiries.
• Conduct regular stock audits and ensure proper storage and labelling.
• Operate the POS system, handle billing and cash transactions accurately.
• Provide courteous, confidential customer service and keep the pharmacy environment clean and compliant.
• Assist the shop manager with administrative and operational tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognised institution.
• Valid licence from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
• Minimum three years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Strong knowledge of prescription medications, dosages and contraindications.
• Excellent attention to detail, ethics and communication skills.
• Ability to work day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
