PhD Peer Reviewer – Gastroenterology & Hepatology

About the role

This is a long‑term, part‑time remote position for a qualified researcher to provide peer‑review services for manuscripts in gastroenterology and hepatology. The role supports a scholarly journal by ensuring submitted papers meet high scientific standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty of each manuscript and determine its contribution to the field.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Check that the literature review is comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity, accuracy, and significance.
• Provide constructive, written feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in a relevant biomedical discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewable publications in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Strong understanding of research methods and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking, and written communication abilities.
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.
