Platform and Automation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Platform and Automation Engineer to shape and optimise the internal technology ecosystem of a globally distributed organisation. Based in Kenya, you will design scalable automation solutions, integrate critical SaaS platforms and drive operational efficiency through engineering‑first practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of internal platforms, automation workflows and system integrations.
• Administer, optimise and integrate business‑critical SaaS tools such as CRM, support, billing, collaboration and engineering applications.
• Develop automation scripts, internal services, CLI tools and event‑driven workflows using modern programming languages and APIs.
• Build reliable integrations for data synchronization, user provisioning and other operational processes.
• Create internal tools that enhance onboarding, access management, collaboration and employee productivity.
• Identify and implement AI‑driven solutions, including intelligent assistants and workflow automation.
• Design automated onboarding/offboarding, identity management and self‑service workflows.
• Provide advanced technical support, root‑cause analysis and long‑term process improvements.
• Implement security controls, identity management, endpoint protection and compliance processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to continuously improve business systems and the employee technology experience.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in IT, platform, systems or business‑systems engineering.
• Proven senior‑level ownership of internal platforms and automation initiatives.
• Strong passion for automation, security and operational excellence.

Required skills

• Programming and scripting proficiency.
• Experience with modern APIs and SaaS integrations.
• Ability to design and develop automation workflows and CLI tools.
