Plumber I-II – Facility Maintenance (Multiple Locations)

About the role

Under general supervision, the Plumber I-II provides comprehensive plumbing and gas‑fitting services for school and building equipment systems across multiple locations. The role involves independent work, troubleshooting, installation, repair, and mentoring of junior staff while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, install, repair, replace, and maintain plumbing and gas‑fitting equipment.
• Perform prefabrication, alteration, and building tasks related to plumbing systems.
• Maintain accurate records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Mentor and train less‑experienced plumber/gas‑fitter employees.
• Work the scheduled shift of 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, including overtime as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and use protective equipment when handling hazardous materials.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program with at least four years of progressive plumbing experience, including two years at an apprentice‑II level or equivalent.
• Valid Journeyman Plumber License and active Backflow Prevention Certification.
• Ability to work beyond a standard 40‑hour week and lift objects up to 50 lb.
• Physical capability to work in environments with extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust, fumes, and noise.
