Pre‑Sales Specialist – Google Cloud Platform

About the role

Abacus Consulting is looking for a Pre‑Sales Specialist with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this role you will act as a strategic technical advisor, partnering with clients to understand their business challenges and design scalable, secure cloud solutions that drive digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pre‑sales discussions, discovery workshops, and technical deep‑dives to capture client requirements.
• Present GCP capabilities, best practices, and architectural recommendations.
• Develop customized solution proposals, technical documentation, and value‑driven presentations.
• Design scalable, cost‑effective GCP architectures covering compute, storage, networking, security, DevOps, and data services.
• Create architecture diagrams, proof‑of‑concepts, and demo environments.
• Support sales teams with technical inputs for bids, RFPs, and pricing models, highlighting API management, AI‑driven insights, and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with delivery, practice leads, and sales to ensure smooth handover from pre‑sales to implementation.
• Contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing, GCP playbooks, and best‑practice documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a GCP consultant or solution architect.
• Strong technical expertise in Google Cloud services and cloud‑native design patterns.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear architectures.
• Strategic mindset to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Required skills

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC networking, Cloud Security.
• Cloud DevOps tools and practices.
• Data services on GCP (BigQuery, Cloud SQL, etc.).
• API management platforms, especially Apigee X/hybrid.
• Cloud migration strategies and multi‑cloud integration.
• Architecture diagramming and proof‑of‑concept development.
