Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will lead the organisation's procurement function, ensuring timely, cost‑effective and compliant acquisition of goods and services that support programme delivery and operations. The role also manages the Egg a Week Programme inventory and surplus‑egg sales to generate income for programme sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with organisational needs and approved budgets.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain quality goods and services at competitive prices.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date supplier database and foster strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment and keep accurate procurement records.
• Prepare periodic procurement and egg‑inventory reports, highlighting sales performance and market opportunities.
• Maintain records of eggs produced, distributed and sold; develop marketing strategies for surplus eggs, especially during school holidays.
• Identify buyers, negotiate sales, coordinate delivery and track revenue from egg sales.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional qualification such as KISM/CIPS is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant procurement or supply‑chain experience; 4 years preferred.
• Experience in inventory management, agribusiness, FMCG or agricultural value chains is a plus.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, planning and analytical abilities.
• High level of integrity, accountability and record‑keeping accuracy.
