Procurement & Purchasing Assistant

About the role

Mount Elgon Orchards Ltd is seeking a proactive Procurement & Purchasing Assistant to support its supply chain operations. The role involves sourcing suppliers, processing purchase orders, and coordinating with stores, finance, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotations and supporting supplier evaluation.
• Prepare purchase requisitions, comparative analyses, and purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier files and documentation.
• Track purchase orders from placement to delivery and update stakeholders on status.
• Verify delivered goods against specifications and manage returns of damaged items.
• Coordinate with Main Stores and Workshop Stores to monitor stock levels and replenish inventory.
• Liaise with Finance to match invoices with purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Logistics to ensure efficient transportation and timely delivery.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 36 months of experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Good communication skills for coordination with internal teams and suppliers.
