Programme Coordinator – Migration Management

About the role

The Programme Coordinator (Migration Management) will support IOM Kenya in implementing and overseeing its migration management portfolio. This includes labour mobility, immigration and border governance, and migrant protection programmes, working closely with the Chief of Mission, Head of Programme, Programme Managers and regional specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation of country‑specific policies and strategies on labour mobility, immigration, border governance and migrant protection.
• Collaborate with Programme Managers, Head of Sub‑Offices and the Regional Thematic Specialist to ensure programme alignment with IOM objectives.
• Monitor programme activities, track performance indicators and prepare regular reports for senior management and partners.
• Facilitate partnerships with governmental, intergovernmental and non‑governmental stakeholders.
• Support capacity‑building initiatives and knowledge‑sharing events related to migration management.
• Assist in budget planning, financial tracking and resource allocation for migration‑related projects.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in migration studies, international relations, public policy, law or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in migration management, labour mobility, immigration or border governance, preferably within an international organization or NGO.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural environments and coordinate multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
• Understanding of the Kenyan migration context and regional migration trends.
