Project Accountant

About the role

The Project Accountant will support Lock City Dairies Inc by managing financial records, preparing statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This full‑time position works on‑site in Sault Ste. Marie and interacts with clients, departments, and external institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify clients’ financial goals and objectives.
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
• Plan, set up and administer accounting systems.
• Analyze clients’ financial records for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare financial information, reports, audit findings, and statements.
• Recommend improvements to accounting systems and management practices.
• Review financial services and institutions to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide financial, business and tax advice.
• Negotiate mortgage loans and submit applications on behalf of clients.
• Maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Five or more years of professional accounting experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
