Projects Accountant

About the role

The Projects Accountant will act as the financial steward for all project operations at Burhani Engineers Limited, overseeing budgeting, cost control, and final account settlement. This role ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and real‑time reporting across multiple engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation, implementation and monitoring of project‑specific budgets aligned to Bills of Quantities, contract values and schedules.
• Develop rolling financial forecasts and maintain budget‑vs‑actual dashboards using advanced Excel or ERP tools.
• Integrate budget data with scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Prepare monthly and ad‑hoc project P&L statements, cost‑to‑complete analyses and earned‑value reports.
• Produce variance analyses with written commentary for management decisions.
• Consolidate multi‑project financial data into portfolio reports for senior finance leadership.
• Utilise ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Sage, QuickBooks or equivalents) to generate structured management accounts and KPI dashboards.

Required profile

• Experience in project accounting within an engineering or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial planning and cost control.
• Ability to collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors and site teams.
• Proficiency in leveraging digital tools to improve financial visibility.
