Property Caretaker

About the role

The Property Caretaker will oversee the day‑to‑day management and maintenance of a residential estate in Westlands, Nairobi. Reporting to the Facilities & Property Manager, you will ensure the property remains secure, well‑maintained, and fully occupied.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of all units and common areas, recording any maintenance or security issues.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly maintenance reports to the Facilities & Property Manager.
• Supervise the contracted security company, review security logs, and enforce safety standards.
• Oversee external contractors performing repairs, ensuring work meets specifications.
• Market vacant units, collect rent on time, and manage tenant relations.
• Liaise with regulators and service providers to ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Maintain equipment, report faults, and ensure all assets are in good condition.
• Monitor tenant turnover, approve tenancy applications after due‑diligence, and organize resident meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Real Estate Valuation, Property Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of experience in property or facilities management.
• Mid‑level professional with proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
