PV Engineer

About the role

The PV Engineer will lead the design, integration and commissioning of photovoltaic systems for residential, commercial and industrial projects. You will work on both rooftop and ground‑mount installations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and coordinate PV systems, selecting components such as hybrid inverters, PCS, STS, LiFePo4 battery stacks and PV modules.
• Create electrical single‑line diagrams, panel schedules and connection diagrams using AutoCAD.
• Perform load calculations and algorithm‑based sizing to meet customer energy requirements.
• Evaluate BESS capacity and autonomy hours, and produce graphical energy production models.
• Assess site conditions to determine optimal panel layout and placement.
• Enforce installation safety standards and assess junior candidates.
• Run computer simulations to optimise PV performance.
• Provide technical direction during installation, start‑up, testing, commissioning and performance monitoring.
• Integrate up to 200 kW rooftop and ground‑mount plants with the utility grid and backup gensets.
• Conduct site audits, design solar domestic hot water and space heating systems, and prepare detailed work plans.

Required profile

• Senior‑level engineering experience in solar PV design and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of battery technologies (LiFePo4, Lead‑acid/Gel) and associated protection devices.
• Ability to interpret structural and electrical site data for design purposes.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly.
