Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves cost estimation, financial planning and contract administration across a variety of construction and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and feasibility studies for new projects.
• Manage pre‑ and post‑contract quantity surveying duties, including bills of quantities, tender documentation and cost control.
• Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to ensure cost‑effectiveness.
• Evaluate contractor claims, variations and issue payment certificates.
• Advise on procurement strategies and contractual matters.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project expenditures against budgets and schedules.
• Compile final accounts and project completion reports.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, legal standards and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related field.
• Registered with a recognized professional body (e.g., IQSK, QSRB, RICS) and valid BORAQS registration.
• Minimum five years post‑qualification experience on medium to large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction law, tendering procedures and standard contracts (FIDIC, JBC).

• Proficiency with WinQS.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
