Remote Cybersecurity Specialist – Penetration Testing

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Cybersecurity Specialist to join a leading information services firm on a contract basis. The role focuses on penetration testing across networks, web applications, and APIs to evaluate and strengthen the organization’s security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments, including network, web application, and API penetration testing.
• Run vulnerability scans, analyze results, and identify security weaknesses.
• Develop and execute custom exploits to validate risks and simulate real‑world attacks.
• Document findings in detailed reports with remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to triage issues and verify fixes.

Required profile

• Proven experience with penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, and Metasploit.
• Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and tool development.
• Solid understanding of security frameworks including OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, and CIS benchmarks.
• Familiarity with network protocols, Windows and Linux operating systems, and cloud security principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly.
