Restaurant Internal Auditor

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing restaurant on Thika Road, is seeking a dedicated Internal Auditor to safeguard financial integrity and optimise operational controls.

Key responsibilities

• Audit daily cash collections, POS transactions and bank reconciliations.
• Conduct regular audits of food, beverage and bar inventory to detect variances and minimise losses.
• Review procurement processes for proper authorisation and competitive sourcing.
• Verify payroll, overtime and staff attendance records for accuracy and compliance.
• Examine supplier payments and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
• Identify internal‑control weaknesses, prepare timely audit reports and present findings to senior management.
• Follow‑up on audit recommendations and report any gaps.
• Discuss audit outcomes directly with the Chief Executive Officer.

Required profile

• CPA (K) or ACCA qualification and current ICPAK membership.
• Membership of IIA Kenya is a strong advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
• Minimum one year of experience in internal auditing, fraud or risk management.
• Training in risk and/or fraud management is highly preferable.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Required skills

• Experience with restaurant POS and inventory systems such as Micros, Oracle Simphony or GAAP.
• Strong data‑analysis and audit‑report writing abilities.
• Knowledge of internal‑audit standards, fraud awareness and professional ethics.

What we offer

• Competitive monthly salary ranging from KES 30,000 to KES 45,000 (approximately KES 40,000 for the right candidate).
