Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer will safeguard the company’s farms, processing plants, warehouses, offices and distribution centres in Thika. You will enforce security procedures, control access and respond promptly to incidents, ensuring a safe environment for staff, visitors and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Control access to premises, verify visitors, staff and contractors.
• Conduct routine patrols of facilities and surrounding areas.
• Monitor CCTV and other surveillance equipment.
• Protect assets against theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies and alarms.
• Maintain detailed occurrence books and incident reports.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing goods, vehicles and personnel.
• Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies.
• Investigate breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with law enforcement when required.
• Monitor fire safety equipment and support emergency preparedness.
• Assist health and safety initiatives across operations.
• Conduct security risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities.
• Escort visitors, contractors and high‑value deliveries as needed.
• Report suspicious activities to management.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Diploma in Security Management (Criminology qualification is an advantage).
• At least three years of security experience, preferably in corporate or manufacturing environments.
• Valid certificate of good conduct.
• Computer literacy.
