Senior Audit Manager

About the role

RSM Eastern Africa Consulting Ltd is seeking a Senior Audit Manager to lead audit engagements for a diverse client base across East Africa. The role involves planning, supervising, and delivering high‑quality audit services while ensuring compliance with the firm’s methodology and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule audit engagements, coordinate kick‑off meetings, and obtain client agreement on timelines.
• Supervise audit teams, review work for adherence to audit plans, methodology, and quality standards, and resolve key engagement issues.
• Identify and manage conflicts of interest, update the Global Risk Tracker, and ensure compliance with internal policies.
• Develop and deliver training material to enhance staff competencies.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities, contribute to marketing initiatives, and gather market intelligence on potential projects.
• Maintain client relationships, oversee billing, collection, and productivity metrics, and manage the work‑in‑progress register.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting/auditing experience, including at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Professional audit qualification (CPA) and relevant membership.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
