Senior Field Service Technician – Solar Water Farms

About the role

GivePower Kenya is looking for a Senior Field Service Technician to lead the operation, maintenance and optimisation of its solar‑powered desalination systems (Solar Water Farms) across Kenya. You will ensure safe, efficient water production while guiding junior technicians and supporting field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of desalination and water‑treatment equipment (reverse osmosis, filtration, dosing systems, pumps).
• Monitor water quality to meet KEBS and internal standards.
• Maintain boreholes, injection wells and soak pits.
• Support solar‑battery off‑grid systems (panels, inverters, charge controllers, batteries, generators).
• Diagnose and resolve power faults to keep water‑treatment systems running.
• Maintain site network infrastructure (routers, modems, antennas, IoT/monitoring devices) and ensure reliable data transmission.
• Provide technical supervision to Junior Field Service Technicians, inspect major repairs and sign off work.
• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules and keep accurate maintenance records.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field service of water‑treatment and solar power systems.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior technicians.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for both mechanical and electrical issues.
• Knowledge of KEBS water‑quality regulations.
• Willingness to work onsite in remote locations.
