System Engineering Director

About the role

The System Engineering Director is responsible for ensuring seamless coordination, optimisation, and system‑level troubleshooting across all technical division teams. This senior leader drives cross‑functional synergy, supports major project phases, and owns the Disaster Recovery Plans to reduce risk and cost.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the central reference point for transversal matters, embedding system‑level considerations into all team activities.
• Facilitate collaboration across departments to align objectives, optimise processes, and achieve cost reductions and risk mitigations.
• Lead major issue resolution, applying system‑wide perspectives and maintaining the Disaster Recovery Plan.
• Participate in all project phases, identifying and addressing cross‑system interactions that may be missed by subject‑matter experts.
• Drive integration of advanced technologies such as AI, cloud infrastructure, and software‑defined systems, and oversee interoperability across LEO, MEO, GEO constellations and 5G‑satellite networks.
• Mentor and develop teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in system engineering or related technical domains.
• Strong track record of coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams and managing large‑scale technical projects.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and risk management.
• Ability to influence and mentor engineers to adopt best practices and emerging technologies.
