Vehicle Condition Inspector

About the role

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Vehicle Condition Inspector to join its growing team. You will be the face of the company, providing accurate vehicle assessments and helping customers understand the condition of each car.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease locations to identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues.
• Prepare detailed condition reports, including repair or replacement cost estimates and photographic documentation.
• Upload inspected vehicles to the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Collaborate with Territory Managers and sales teams to support upselling and cross‑selling of services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers and independent buyers.
• Travel to various sites, working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in the automobile field with knowledge of body, paint, and mechanical repair.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a registered, insured vehicle.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift 25 lb or more, and perform manual tasks.

Required skills

• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Proficiency with web‑based applications and mobile devices for uploading images and reports.
