Vehicle Condition Inspector

About the role

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Vehicle Condition Inspector who loves cars and enjoys explaining vehicle details to clients. You will be the face of the company, ensuring every inspected vehicle meets our high standards of trust, transparency, and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Support initiatives that simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Partner with Territory Managers and other Inspectors to conduct thorough inspections at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease locations.
• Prepare and submit detailed condition reports, repair cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Assist the sales team in up‑selling or cross‑selling services and products.
• Maintain regular communication with dealers to build strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
• Travel to various sites, take comprehensive photos, and upload them using a company‑issued smartphone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Onboard independent dealerships as buyers to use the digital platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in the automobile field (body, paint, or mechanical repair) with a customer‑service background.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform manual labor (standing, lifting 25 lb+, bending, squatting).
• Problem‑solving mindset, resourceful and innovative.
• Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a registered, insured vehicle.
• Vision acuity sufficient to identify small defects on and under vehicles.
