About the role
UN-Habitat is seeking a Global Advocacy Consultant to lead the advocacy component of the World Urban Forum 13 (WUF13). The consultant will work from Nairobi and support the Forum’s global, regional, national and sub‑national outreach, raising awareness of its theme, tracks and outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Conceptualise and implement a comprehensive global advocacy plan for WUF13.
- Develop a Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and guidance document for the World Urban Forum, ensuring alignment with UN‑Habitat mandates.
- Consolidate institutional knowledge, lessons learned and best practices to inform advocacy activities.
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, academia, private sector and UN agencies, to mobilise support for the Forum.
Required profile
- Proven experience in designing and executing global advocacy strategies, preferably in urban development or related fields.
- Familiarity with UN‑Habitat’s mandate and the World Urban Forum’s objectives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups across multiple levels.
